Colour is simply a form of visible light, of electromagnetic energy. All the primary colours reflected in the rainbow carry their own unique healing properties. The sun alone is a wonderful healer! Just imagine what life would be like without sunshine. It has been proven that lack of sunlight contributes to depression for some people.
Colour therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is often facilitated in the healing rooms of alternative health practitioners. Colour therapy is classified as a vibrational healing modality. Vibrational medicine incorporates the use of chi energies within living organisms such as plants, gemstones and crystals, water, sunlight, and sound.
Chromotherapists claim to be able to use light in the form of colour to balance "energy" lacking from a person's body, whether it be on physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental levels.
Chromotherapy is a holistic therapy that focuses on restoring health by correcting the body's colour imbalances. Chromotherapy treatment, including chakra balancing, can be used alone or to complement other spa therapies. Colour-based therapy aims to restore the balance of the body's electrical and magnetic fields, addressing illness at its core. While it sounds too simple to be true, chromotherapy has been scientifically proven to offer health benefits. Its popularity is growing rapidly; chromotherapy is now available at many leading spas and naturopathic clinics.
How Colour affect us-
• Color is one of the languages of the soul, just look at inspired or meditative paintings.
• They influence our mood and emotions.
• They have their impact on our sense of well-being or un-easiness.
• Using and avoiding certain colors is a way of self-expression; it sheds light on our personality.
• Colors affect our way of perception (light colors make a space look big, a high ceiling looks less high when painted in a dark color, etc.)
• Colors have a symbolic meaning which is immediately recognized by our subconsciousness. It must be said that not all colors mean the same to all persons and all cultures.
• They influence the flow and amount of energy in our bodies.
